Preface
Drone technology has emerged as one of the most significant advancements in modern engineering with applications spanning agriculture, transportation, infrastructure inspection, disaster management, surveillance and many other fields. As industries increasingly adopt unmanned aerial systems, there is a growing need for engineering graduates to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in this domain.
This book has been prepared for undergraduate engineering students based on the prescribed syllabus for the Drone Technology course. It presents the fundamental concepts of drones, including their design, fabrication, programming, flight operations, commercial applications and safety regulations, in a clear and systematic manner. The content is organized into five units to support effective teaching, learning, and self study.
The objective of this book is to help students build a strong foundation in drone technology while encouraging innovation, problem solving and application oriented learning. It is hoped that this book will serve as a useful resource for students, faculty members, and anyone interested in understanding the fundamentals of drone technology.
