Material handing plays a very important role in engineering as well as process industries. There are various tvpes of material handling equipments available in the world. These material handling equipment’s work based on different principles. fn this project. an attempt has been made to emphasize the importance of economical material handling. Material handling is a very vast and wide field. Material handling is also a developing as well as expanding field. But the project duration is only six months. So, the project scope is narrowed down to the mechanical conveying and with special reference to mechanical vertical conveying. In this book, an attempt has been made to analyse the probable design criteria, from the fundamentals using Computer Aided Design. The design procedures for mechanical vertical conveying systems are well established. Various factors which affect the material handling are power consumption, maintenance, Initial Investment etc. In this work, the material handling equipment had been chosen for the given conditions based upon the low power consumption and low maintenance.
